Bamuza Sono is to launch and host the first in a series and the first of its kind in Soweto the ground breaking Kulisani 5 A Side Club Championships in September in Soweto. Having been involved in football his entire life Sono would have felt that there is loads of talent that goes undiscovered due to lack of events like this on the social 5 aside scene and that hosting this tournament would add other channel for football stakeholders to scout raw talent.
Sono, 36 recently retired from football and has been working in the background with Jomo Cosm
os to nurture and develop future talent at all levels at the clubs youth teams. He played over 187 times for Cosmos and played 4 times for Bafana Bafana as an attacking Midfielder.
We caught up with Sono and asked him to tell us more about the Kulisani 5 aside Championships. He told us that the tournament is open for everyone to participate, the tickets only cost R3500.00 per team with the winners of the tournament getting an all-expenses paid trip to the World Five a side Club Championships in Brazil. The tickets will be available from the 11th of July 2016 on their website and there are limited spaces for teams. He also urged local business and sponsors to get on board as there would be ample business and marketing opportunities on day with stalls for food and an exhibition being set up.
