Kagiso Rabada dethroned English fast bowler James Anderson from the number one spot in ICC Test Bowling Rankings. Rabada who was South Africa’s highest ranked bowler last year this time (5th), one place ahead of Dale Steyn, is now number one Test bowler in the world.
The speedster played a crucial role in helping South Africa win the first Test of the Freedom Series in Cape Town on Monday, taking 3/34 and 2/41 respectively. Rabada becomes the seventh South African bowler to top the ICC Test Bowling Rankings.
Vernon Philander who was named Man of the Match at Newlands, has moved up six spots in the rankings as he joins KG in the top ten.
