Lewis Hamilton extended his lead in overall standings on Sunday following his Hungarian Grand Prix victory.
• Golf:
Dustin Johnson’s win of the RBC Canadian Open gave the 34-year-old his 19th career PGA Tour victory, which ties him for 38th in career wins.
• Tennis:
Nikoloz Basilashvili beat Leonardo Mayer to claim the German Open and his first ATP final in Hamburg – 6-4, 0-6, 7-5
• Aquatics:
South African men’s underwater hockey side won silver at the World Championships in Quebec.
• Boxing
Mikey Garcia (39-0, 30 KOs) beat Robert Easter Jr. (21-1, 14 KOs) cruised to a 12-round unanimous decision Saturday, unifying his WBC lightweight title with Easter’s IBF title.
• Football:
South Africa lost 1 – 0 to Angola in the COSAFA under 17 final on Sunday.
