The Springboks continued with their good fortune at home against England, this after they beat the touring side 23 – 12 in Bloemfontein on Saturday.
The series decider started off in identical fashion as the Ellis Park first Test, England got off to a flying start, scoring two quick tries and congealed a 12 – 0 lead within 14 minutes of the first half.
As usual, just like last weekend, the Springboks regrouped and hit back with a brilliant run by Duane “THOR” Vermeulen who cut through the English defense and dotted down for the first Bok try.
Handre Pollard’s boot played a crucial role in keeping the scoreboard ticking with one of his long rage 58 metre penalty goals bringing the score to 13 – 12 to the Springboks at half time.
South Africa started the second half like a house on fire earning a penalty-try (push over scrum) nine minutes into the second stanza of the match, extending their lead to 20 – 12. England remained scoreless throughout the second half and Pollard added three more points to add the final nail in the coffin.
The Springboks clinched the Series 2 – 0 with one more Test to play in Cape Town on the 23rd of June.
