The 10 nominees for Barclays Premier League Player of the Season have been announced, with Leicester City’s superstars making up half of the list.
It comes as no surprise to the public that 5 of the Foxes players have been nominated for this award as they’ve had more than just one stand out player in their sublime title-winning squad this season.
Football Writers’ Player of the Year Jamie Vary and PFA Player of the Year Riyad Mahrez alongside goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel, midfielder N’Golo Kante and captain West Morgan have made the 10 man shortlist for the prestigious BPL Player of the Season.
The rest of the list is accounted for by Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane – current top goalscorer (25 goals) , defender Toby Alderweireld and PFA Young Player of the Year Dele Alli.
Dimitri Payed also peeks in after having a fantastic first season in England with the Hammers guiding them to a European placing.
Arsenal playmaker Mesut Özil makes up the tailed of the list after bagging 18 assists to for the Gunners thus far.
The winner will be announced on 13 May by a panel featuring members of the media, administrators and fans.
